Getaways aren’t just made for weekends! A weekday Hill Country Getaway can be just as alluring, and White Bluff Resort has created a wonderful getaway experience for anytime with you in mind.  A little over an hour from DFW and about 2 hours from San Antonio, this natural paradise has so much to offer.

The setting is decidedly rural and so the beautiful gated entry with its limestone work, trees, and ponds was a pleasant surprise. Rest assured, waking up in this peaceful wilderness setting is absolutely refreshing.

If you would like to do an overnight, you currently have two options, both of which have been completely renovated within the last year. This Hill Country getaway has both cabins and condos available for rent. The rental covers use of the amenities to include discounted golf, tennis, 4 pools, and the marina and boat launch. You are also welcome to kayak, bike, and hike the area.

Charming log cabins are two-story, each with loft bedrooms and warm wood interiors. They have two new queen beds and one new single bed along with a new pullout sofa bed, one full bath, a fully equipped kitchen, and a new washer/dryer setup.

The cabins are set back in the trees near the 16th green of the New Course and have grills and outdoor seating allowing you to take in the beautiful nature that surrounds you.

Condominiums are set up on a bluff by the 18th green of the Old Course and have wonderful views. Two different layouts offer either upstairs or downstairs master bedrooms with new king beds. A second bedroom will have new twin beds. Bathrooms vary depending on the layout. You’ll have a fully equipped kitchen, a covered patio, a charcoal grill and a picnic table.

Cabins and condos provide outdoor areas for you to take in some fresh air and enjoy your morning coffee while birds and other wildlife forage for their breakfast. On your trip you can expect to see deer, turkeys, possibly coyote and, if you’re lucky, a bobcat. Bring binoculars if you’re into birding, the area supports more than 200 species which include bald eagles. A field checklist is available for the area from Texas Parks and Wildlife. There is also no end to other local opportunities: wineries, old Texas towns with beautiful courthouses, guided fishing trips…to enhance your Hill Country getaway!

Lake Whitney is known to be the clearest water in Texas – worth experiencing. Sunset displays over the lake are spectacular. Try to schedule time into your day to experience one. And, don’t forget that two pristine 18 hole championship golf courses await, we hope you’ll stay and play at White Bluff Resort.
